Dr Nicolas Cuylits is a consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon in the Department of Plastic Surgery of the H.U.B. in Brussels (Hôpital Erasme / Institut Jules Bordet), and a hand and peripheral nerve surgeon at the Centre de Chirurgie de la Main, of which he is a founding associate member.
He graduated in medicine from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and completed his specialist training in Brussels and at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow, qualifying summa cum laude in 2011. He led the Erasme plastic surgery department from 2019 to 2022 and chaired the ULB plastic surgery training programme from 2018 to 2023.
His clinical practice spans four-limb reconstruction, microsurgery, oncological head-and-neck and skin cancer reconstruction, hand surgery and aesthetic surgery. He performed the first robot-assisted latissimus dorsi harvests in Belgium.
He is General Secretary of the Royal Belgian Society for Plastic Surgery.
