Master’s Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and PhD in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP).

Completed specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Centro Hospitalar de São João, Porto, where she also worked as a Senior Consultant until October 2024.

Currently Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at FMUP, having previously served for 12 years as an Invited Assistant Lecturer in Pharmacology I and Pharmacology II.

PhD researcher and supervisor of Master’s theses at FMUP.

Education and International Experience

During specialist training, completed several international fellowships in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery:

• Aesthetic Surgery of the Face and Body in New York and Boston, USA;
• Paediatric Craniofacial Surgery at Miami Children’s Hospital, Miami, USA;
• Microsurgery and Breast Reconstruction at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA;
• Microsurgery and Hand Surgery at Stanford University, Palo Alto, USA.

Scientific Activity

• Author and co-author of more than 120 scientific presentations delivered at national and international scientific meetings, including in the USA and the UK;
• Moderator of round-table discussions and invited speaker at international scientific meetings;
• Participation in more than 40 practical and theoretical-practical courses in Portugal and abroad;
• Author and co-author of 35 scientific articles published in indexed international journals;
• Reviewer of scientific manuscripts submitted to international journals in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery;
• Member of the Editorial Board of an international scientific journal.

• 2015 – Research Grant for Scientific Research and Technological Development Projects, Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT);
• 2012 – D. Manuel de Mello Scholarship – Fundação Amélia de Mello and José de Mello Saúde;
• Recipient of four awards for scientific work presented at scientific meetings.
