Dr. Joana Costa is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon and Head of the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and Burn Unit at the Unidade Local de Saúde de São João, Portugal.

She also serves as Coordinator of the Hospital Wound Care Committee and Co-Coordinator of the Brachial Plexus Functional Unit.É ainda Coordenadora da Comissão de Feridas do Hospital e Co-Coordenadora da Unidade Funcional de Plexo Braquial.

Dr. Costa’s clinical practice is focused on reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, brachial plexus and peripheral nerve surgery, and advanced wound care. She has a particular interest in complex reconstructive procedures that combine innovation with evidence-based practice.A sua atividade clínica centra-se na cirurgia reconstrutiva, microcirurgia, cirurgia do plexo braquial e dos nervos periféricos, bem como no tratamento avançado de feridas.
